Swedish designer Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta from 1950 to 1973.
Etched art, glass paperweight, a wise Owl.
I found a web page that says the mass produced ones use a, block type signature, this one does not have that.
The signature here looks like a "Le" with a dot above the e, but is written in cursive and is the letter "i".
So this should not be a mass produced art glass piece. The others use a printed L and i not the same as this at all.
I measure almost exactly 3 inches high.
A base of 1 and 1/16 inch diameter.
The widest area of 1 and 5/8 inch diameter.
The bottom reads:
" Kosta 95859 "
" Lindstrand "
I looked at other ones like this, the bottoms seems to have the etching on the upper half only. This one is above and below the center middle.
The white spot you see is a bubble inside the glass, the rim of the eye is hard to tell if it is damage or not, as it looks like the effect of the etching.
Seems in great condition, or good enough you would need to use a magnifying glass to find anything wrong.
Please examine the pictures, photos taken outside, with clouds and a tad sunny.
Will not offer a refund, I see nothing that would diminish the attraction. Or contact me before you buy, if you have any questions about it.
